Santiago Millas, declared a Historic Ensemble in 1998 and considered the capital of Maragatería, is a small village where inland and food tourism play an important role today.

Its Maragato architecture stands out: stone masonry houses, Arab-tile roofs, galleries, corridors and large carriage gates. Restored stone fountains, churches and chapels also shape the character of the village.
Nearby you can visit the “Ventura Alonso” Museum of Maragato Muleteers, housed in the old village schools, an excellent stop to discover local customs after enjoying a good stew.
